Caves Santa Marta let’s the sun grow their business

Caves Santa Marta is a cooperative winery with six decades of history. The company is located in the middle of the well known Douro valley, producing wine of the best quality. By partnering up with Bright Sunday, Caves Santa Marta now proudly could present their 13 million liters of wine produced annually as “totally sun-made”.

Classic club future proofed

Club Internacional de Foot-ball is a sports club founded in 1902 in Lisbon, Portugal. By 1924 the club decided to end its football team claiming the sport’s amateurism ideals were being lost. Since then the club’s main focus is basketball, youth football and tennis. Bright Sunday is part of making CIF’s activities even more sustainable over time by providing power from solar.

Poultry producer turned power producer

Bright Sunday has financed solar PV built on top of the facilities of one of Portugal’s largest poultry producers, António Carlos P Mé Mé. The system has been installed by SOLVasto and the electricity produced will be delivered to the grid for a minimum of 15 years. Any eggs in this facility will be prepared ”sunny side up” from the start.

We’re football supporters

UD Oliveirense and SG Sacavenense are smaller football clubs hit hard by rising electricity costs. By letting Bright Sunday finance the installation of solar PV they not only reduce their costs, but get LED lighting for free.

As in all production agreements in Portugal, Bright Sunday has a guaranteed feed in tariff from the large electricity company EdP, making it the perfect win-win-win: Bright Sunday, football clubs and the climate.

Solar PV and free LED for Vitoria FC

Vitoria FC, in Setúbal, is a football club in the Primeira Liga in Portugal. Our contract includes installing LED lights on their training facility and in their offices. This will both generate a massive saving in energy cost as well as a reduction of CO2 emissions equivalent to more than 58 tonnes annually.

And that is just the beginning. We also installed 275 kWp worth of solar panels on the roof of their futsal, handball och gymnastics facility. This will help reduce CO2 emissions by 150 tonnes annually.
