FedEx decided to get solar energy via a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with Bright Sunday. They will now receive clean, renewable energy directly from a solar PV system on their roof. And this without the need to make any investment for the solar PV system.

Bright Sunday takes care of everything from system design, installation, monitoring, cleaning, service and insurance. FedEx just pays for the electricity. This way, FedEx can focus on its core operations while simultaneously reducing its carbon emissions and energy costs.

“We are thrilled to collaborate with FedEx Express in implementing this forward-thinking solar energy solution,” said Niklas Engström, CEO of Bright Sunday. “I would like to thank both the European and Spanish FedEx teams for great collaboration. We are not only driving environmental sustainability, but also delivering financial benefits.”

The solar PV system will generate  approximately 95 megawatt hours of electricity annually. This output will cover an estimated 17% of the energy needs of the premises, contributing to reducing dependency on conventional grid power and lowering greenhouse gas emissions.

Bright Sunday collaborates with trusted partners for design and installation. The installation at FedEx was done in close collaboration with Ruano Energía.
